ACADEMIC SKILLS & RESEARCH COURSE

• Six-hour course

• Must possess a strong understanding of foundational writing concepts (students who complete the Essential Skills & Composition course may join)

• lay out research objectives 

• Search for available sources that apply to their topic and the appropriate level of research/detail for the assignment

• systematically glean and record pertinent information from each source

• create a detailed outline for the research essay

• compose a well-written, and well-researched academic essay
